A rumble in the night wakes the crew. Bleary-eyed they stumble up to the dining hall. Sahuagin Raiders are ransacking the place, looking for loot. Thorgrimr charges in, grabbing a chair to smash into the first he can see. Paankit follows stealthily in his wake, stabbing at those he can catch unawares. Evy reigns Fiery bolts of magic from the doorway while Kober tries to wrestle one thief to the ground.
The crew quickly dispatches several of the invaders, but a Crashing window betrays one thief escaping for the coast. Kober nearly leaps out after him, yelling about the price of turnips these days, but is stayed by the watchful Paladin. The crew choose to regroup and properly arm themselves before giving chase.
Ready for a fight, the crew follows the lone flipper prints, quickly fading in the surf. The travel north along the shore until the tracks lead to a sea cave in the cliffs. Time and storms have carved away through the hard stone, making a menacing maw in the jagged stone. The tunnel within is tight, a healthy human would struggle to squeeze through the tight turns, but our dwarves find it merely snug.
The dank stench and slippery floor must be to blame for the team to miss the the pot of fish guts waiting to spill over those who carelessly try to find their way to the inner chambers. Thoroughly disgusted by the refuse, Evy and Paankit take a moment to cleanse the others with a little Prestidigitation. Fully alert now, the crew make their way deeper.
Two Sahuagin Shamans and there lackeys guard the passage further. They Unleash the torrential terror of their spells upon first sight of the the four. Paankit is quick to dodge and Thorgrimr takes the hit across his plate to block the others. Evy fills the room with a blast of Burning hands and Kober gets ready with hammer and shield.
Paankit calls upon otherworldly forces to blast at the the fishy witches, or witchy fishes? Thorgrimr flies in with his heavy Maul to back up Kober. The witches try to return fire on Evy and Paankit but are harried by the hammer wielding dwarves.
Teamwork eventually wears down the shamans and their goons flee into a hidden passage. The crew follows in a Frenzy to prevent the goons calling reinforcements. Just as we nearly catch up, they stop suddenly, wary of the next step. Thorgrimr slams straight into their back and they stumble onto a pressure plate and gargle in panic. Rocks tumble from a hidden ledge and squash them.
Another prestidigitation to clean the splat off Thorgrimr, and the team notices the tunnel widens into a cut hallway, with stairs leading up to a door. They sneak up and peek inside.
A damn bakery. Fully fleshed out with commercial grade mixing vats and ovens. Over the far door a banner with a familiar logo hangs. One for a popular local cookie brand praised for its fluffiness. The work tables are Manned entirely by sahuagin.
Paankit quickly disguises himself as one of the workers. He cares amongst them and returns with two bags, a little payback for the stolen goods and lost sleep. Then the crew stealth away.
The crew get back to the ship to check their prize, turnips... Kober is ecstatic.
